With a heat pump, you use nature's free energy for heating, cooling and hot water. Depending on the type of heat pump, it extracts energy from the outside air, the ground or the groundwater and transfers it to the heating system.
Heat pumps are highly energy-efficient and can use up to 70% less electricity than traditional heating systems, resulting in lower energy bills and reduced carbon emissions.
Heat pumps can be used for both heating and cooling, which makes them a versatile choice for many households and businesses.
Heat pumps are designed to last for many years, and with proper maintenance, they can have a lifespan of up to 20 years or more.
Heat pumps can use renewable energy sources such as the ground, air, or water, making them a sustainable and eco-friendly heating solution for households and businesses in Germany.
Heat pumps are among the most environmentally friendly and energy-efficient technologies for generating domestic heat and hot water. Because about 75 percent of the energy for this comes directly from the environment - the air, the earth or the groundwater. The rest is required as drive energy in the form of electricity. If this also comes from renewable sources, for example the sun via photovoltaics, a heat pump becomes an almost climate-neutral and even more efficient heating system.
A refrigerator extracts heat from the interior and releases it outside to cool. The heat pump works exactly the other way around: it extracts heat from the outside area and makes it available as heating energy.
In order to use the ambient heat, a refrigerant with a special property circulates in the heat pump. Even at an ambient temperature of -30 °C, the refrigerant changes from a liquid to a gaseous state. This gas is then compressed to a temperature level that provides enough heat to heat an entire building.
In conjunction with surface heating and with the appropriate design of the heating system, a heat pump can also ensure pleasant cooling in summer: the temperature in your house can be reduced by up to 3°C. In combination with fan convectors, the heat pump can even cool down to the degree – another advantage that is becoming increasingly important.
Function of a heat pump*Die angegebenen Investitionsbedarfe sind ohne Fördermittel-Abzug, wie z.B. BAFA, FKG. Tatsächliche Investitionsbedarfe bei den Wärmepumpen-Varianten sind somit geringer.
Schramm-Daumen-Regel: <10 Jahre Laufzeit gewinnt Gas;>20 Jahre gewinnt Wärmepumpe
Air
An air heat pump uses heat energy from the air, even at outside temperatures as low as -25 °C.
Earth
A geothermal heat pump uses the heat energy stored in the ground using a geothermal probe or collector.
Water
A groundwater heat pump extracts the heat from the groundwater, which is pumped via a well.
In terms of heating technology technologies, modernization projects are more demanding. This is due to the mostly insufficient thermal insulation of the building shell and windows as well as to older radiators. But even in these cases, a heat pump with higher flow temperatures, such as our > aroTHERM plus, Can heat efficiently and sufficiently.
Another option is to combine a heat pump with a gas condensing boiler. This so-called > hybrid system is ideal when modernizing, if your house has a high heat requirement or if you want to add an efficient, environmentally friendly heat pump to your existing gas condensing boiler.
Heat pumps can be a great choice for multi-family buildings, as they can provide efficient heating and cooling while using less energy than traditional HVAC systems. Additionally, heat pumps offer the flexibility to provide both heating and cooling, which can be particularly beneficial in multi-family buildings with varying temperature preferences among residents.
Efficient heat pumps are an excellent solution for commercial buildings looking to reduce their energy consumption and lower their carbon footprint.
With advances in technology, modern heat pumps can efficiently provide both heating and cooling to commercial buildings, saving money on energy bills while also contributing to a sustainable future.
During development, our heat pumps have to pass up to 300 tests under the toughest conditions before they go into series production. That is why our heat pumps are so robust and durable.
Our heat pumps are among the quietest on the market and are therefore also ideal for densely built-up residential areas. And you can enjoy a quiet atmosphere day and night.
We are also there for you after the installation and with more than 300 customer service technicians we are always nearby. Our factory customer service was checked by TÜV Saarland as part of an independent customer survey and repeatedly awarded the quality seal "TÜV Service tested very good".
With an appropriate design of the heating system, our heat pumps can even cool , so that you benefit from up to 3°C cooler temperatures in the house. And that also ensures more convenience: the convenient and free control via app from anywhere and at any time.
Our heat pumps are ideal for new builds and modernization projects - as a stand-alone heat pump system or as a hybrid system with a gas condensing boiler. For every individual need.
Our heat pumps also set standards in terms of design. For example, our aroTHERM Split air/water heat pump received the IF Design Award 2019 for its clear, compact design.
